Since he was a kid, one thing was for certain: Ben Quam throws parties. Growing up, Ben spent every cent he earned on music, obsessed with always being the kid with the best (and most) music at every get together. In college, he found himself making mix CDs for local bars’ jukeboxes and DJing college nights.
In 2003 he found his first residency in Downtown Minneapolis at The Lodge Bar every Friday and Saturday, which later led to gigs with Spin, Aqua, Elixir, Drink, Bootleggers, and finally his new home since they opened, The Pourhouse. But wherever he DJs, there is one item he cannot live without: a microphone.
Whether hyping a crowd up for shows he’s done with DJs like Homicide, Spyder, StoneRokk, Pete Wentz, Diverse, and Joe Maz, or hosting charity benefits for companies like RBC, The Walker Art Center, Share Our Strength, Fraser, or working as the in-Arena host for the MN Timberwolves, Ben is at his most comfortable with a mic in his hand in front of a crowd.
