Ryan Kulka was born in Minneapolis, MN and has been a professional entertainer since the age of 14. Ryan broke into the entertainment industry in 1998 when he was discovered by NBC television producers (out of thousands who auditioned), to be the host/reporter for their popular teen pop culture series, “The Whatever Show.” After 3 years as a cast member, Ryan began actively pursuing the music career he had been working on. At age 17, he began writing songs and formed his first band, which extensively toured the Midwest region. He did this all while he attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
After graduation, Ryan (forever an entrepreneur), started his own record label to support his original music and has forged working business relationships with Best Buy, Apple, The American Cancer Society, Armed Forces Entertainment and The American Diabetes Association. Then in 2010, Ryan finished in the Top 1000 contestants (out of over 60,000) on FOX Network’s most popular talent competition, “American Idol, Season 10.” Ryan continues to perform his music onstage at the most famous music venues across the nation.
However, his other passion is entertaining crowds from behind the turntables. Since 2006, Ryan has entertained at over 200 weddings and corporate/private events, and is one of the most requested and highly sought after event DJ’s in the state of Minnesota. Ryan can also be seen DJing at various nightclubs in Minneapolis as well as at select MN Timberwolves home games in the UV Backcourt club and Upper Level. Kulka states, “My passion is to move the crowd, and please the client, by making what I do an experience that exceeds everyone’s expectations.”
