Inception
Nicholas Dircz (also known as DJ Mad Mardigan) started out practicing his DJ skills while selling insurance. In December of 2004, his life was changed when his younger brother passed away tragically in a car accident. Nicholas realized his true passion was to make people happy, and the concept of GenerationNOW Entertainment was born.

First Residency
Nine months later, GenNOW’s own Ryan Kulka introduced Nicholas to his very first nightclub residency at Tiffanys Lounge in St. Paul, MN. After just a few weeks of rocking crowds there, he quit his insurance job and pursued his DJ career head-on. Within three months, DJ Mad Mardigan landed a coveted residency at The Imperial Room in downtown Minneapolis.

The Imperial Room
It was at The Imperial Room where Nicholas’ skills were noticed by the Game Presentation Manager of The Minnesota Timberwolves. A meeting was set in the spring of 2007, and before he knew it, Nicholas Dircz was their Official DJ. You can find him spinning records and pumping up thousands of fans at The Target Center in downtown Minneapolis every single home game for both The Timberwolves and The Lynx.

GenerationNOW Entertainment is named
Being a staple in the DJ and event industry, Nicholas was able to befriend virtually every professional DJ in the city including DJ Dudley D (Dustin Meyer — Tour DJ for Prince for 20 years). He began to develop an entertainment concept with his good friend and another fellow DJ, Devin Johnson. They decided to call it, “GenerationNOW DJ Entertainment” and they formulated the foundation of the company that exists today.

Enter Ryan Kulka
During this time, Ryan Kulka was making a name for himself in both the professional music community, and in the world of the professional wedding DJ. In a matter of five years, Ryan has performed at over 130 wedding receptions and worked with an impressive list of clients. He honed his skills to the point of perfection, and is now one of the most respected & requested wedding DJs in the area. Ryan began searching for what was next in his career as an entertainer.

That answer came during a chance encounter with Nicholas Dircz at none other than Tiffanys Lounge. Fresh off the birth of his newborn son, Henry, he was also ready to begin the next phase of his entertainment path. The two arranged a meeting, and the concept of GenerationNOW Entertainment was finally put into action.
